Dear Parent and Player,

As a past participant registrant in one of our Whitecaps development programs in London, please see message below from Whitecaps FC Academy Centre Director Marinos Papageorgopoulos:

Hello,

Thanks for being part of our programs in London.

We wanted to let you know of some changes within the Whitecaps structure in London .

The London Youth Whitecaps are not renewing the technical contract relationship with the Vancouver Whitecaps in London.

We have really appreciated the opportunity to have worked together over the three years. We will continue to work hard through our Whitecaps London Head Coach Mike Ayyash and our Vancouver Academy Centre Director Marinos Papageorgopoulos on the completion of the current contract until expiration August 31, 2018.

With the expiration of the contract, any usage of the London Youth Whitecaps name, brand, and leadership by Mike Ayyash will also expire August 31, 2018.

We want to assure you that the Whitecaps are committed to Ontario and our relationship with EMSA and Ontario Soccer. Southern Ontario and in particular London, is a very important market to the Whitecaps.

With this decision by London Youth Whitecaps, we will be now be expanding and growing Whitecaps London under full leadership by Mike Ayyash. Mike will have full authority to continue to build an organization, through coaching selection, club standards and programs that fully integrates into the resources and opportunities with the Vancouver Whitecaps, as well as being aligned in partnership with EMSA and Ontario Soccer in the Ontario Soccer/ Canada Soccer Pathway.

Whitecaps London was formed in 2016 as a not-for-profit High-Performance Soccer Club in Southern Ontario sanctioned by the Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association and Ontario Soccer. We are a part of the Ontario Soccer and OPDL high performance player pathway providing opportunities for talented youth in Ontario. Whitecaps London recently received Ontario Soccer’s Gold Club Excellence award for 2018/2019, the only London and Area Club to receive Ontario Soccer’s Highest Standard.

Whitecaps London will be a true grassroots to professional club under the direction of Mike Ayyash. We will be launching new programs and entering teams in all age groups this coming fall, winter, spring and summer.
